Stephen Bates was pleased to see one Conservative gain to Maidstone Borough Council at the local elections on 4th May 2023, not withstanding the overall net 4 Conservative councillor loss. As in Ashford, it was very clear to Stephen that Maidstone and the Weald fielded excellent local Conservative candidates and worked extremely hard, despite the national political climate 👏
